Coach Mark founded Gilbert North Basketball Club to create the perfect platform for him to share his passion for the game of basketball.
Coach Mark has been fortunate to enjoy some great experiences. Growing up on Riverside, CA Coach Mark enjoyed the opportunity to play with and against Hall of Famer Reggie Miller. In college Coach, Mark was instrumental in turning a losing Loyola Marymount University program into a nationally ranked basketball program. Playing for the "Guru of Go" Paul Westhead, Coach Mark played alongside several future NBA players, as well as the late, great Eric "Hank" Gathers, to produce one of the most prolific offensive teams in NCAA history.
Coach Mark's basketball pedigree also includes coaching Division 1 basketball, securing a patent on an alternative basketball game, and of late coaching both high school and club basketball. As a historian of the game of basketball, Coach Mark strives to stay true to Dr. James Naismith's original intent with both how to play the game and the purpose of the game of basketball. This gives Coach Mark very unique respect for the game of basketball as well as an approach to teaching the game.
Coach Mark's approach is capture in Gilbert North Basketball Club's vision and mission.
